- Rob is a Harvard grad.
- He has one son, Kyle.
- Rob started his career as a sophomore in college. He assisted director Daniel Petrie in making 'Silent Night, Lonely Night', a made-for-tv movie.
- His first job out of college was as a reader for International Famous Agency.
- He left IFA and soon became the Director of Television movies for 20th Century Fox.
- Rob next left Fox for Motown where he became the Executive Vice-President of Motion Pictures.
- In 1978, Rob started his own production company. His debut was a small film called "A Small Circle of Friends," a comedy set in Harvard during the sixties.
