Answer to Trivia

Excelsior, true believer. If you answered the king of comic book movie cameos Stan Lee, then you are correct.

Back before the Marvel Cinematic Universe even existed, Kevin Smith celebrated his love of comic books in his sophomore film Mallrats. A running plot point involves a comics-obsessed character, Brodie, not realizing that Stan Lee was doing a signing at his favorite mall. Later in the film, Brodie meets his hero and the pair share a moment.

That scene would eventually come full circle and works its way into Stan Lee's cameo for Captain Marvel. This week's new film Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first Marvel film not to feature a cameo from Stan Lee.
